In July Kiribati celebrated it's 39th year of Independence. There was an event at the sports complex and all the schools had their marching teams and school banners.
One night we a a pretty good storm come through with some stiff winds which took the roof off of house #2. Not to worry. No one is living in house #2. FM just screwed the loose roofing panels down and left it as is. House #2 is scheduled to be tore down and rebuilt.
BYU Hawaii students came again this year to do internships. On their last night we had a party and they performed a goodbye dance for us.
Elder Nattress from the Seventy and his wife came for a Mission Tour and conference. It was enjoyable to spend time with them. Elder and Sister Nattress on the left, Pres and Sister Larkin on the right.
I cooked up some beef and onions and we made cheesesteak hoagies for the mission conference.

Several Missionaries finished up and went home recently. We will miss their strong spirits.
